Ty Hardin is a lifelong resident of Williamsburg and has a deep commitment to serving his community. Ty is currently employed with the James City County Fire Department, serving in various roles for over 20 years.

He graduated from Walsingham Academy and further pursued his education at Christopher Newport University, earning his degree in Recreation, Tourism, and Wellness Management.

Beyond his role as a firefighter, Ty is also an entrepreneur, holding a business as a DJ and in lawn care services. In addition, his well-rounded background includes cotillion classes with Mrs. Graham, a memorable experience from his childhood years.

Ty is extremely active in volunteer work, community events, sports, and fundraisers, which is a testament to his passion for giving back to the community.  Public service has always been deeply rooted in his family. His father retired from the James City County Police Department, while his mother served as Unit Manager and later Director of Volunteer Services at Sentara Hospital.

Ty has been married to his lovely wife, Rebecca, for 15 years, and family is central to his life. Ty and Rebecca have two sons, Dakota and Dylan, who have been competitive dancers with the Academy of Dance for several years. Ty enjoys supporting them as they travel for performances, proudly filling the role of "Prop Dad”, which includes building, loading, transporting, and setting up stage props for their various routines.

When not working or supporting his sons, Ty enjoys watching and playing sports. He can often be found on or near the water. Ty enjoys vacationing with his family and especially loves their trips to Disney World, where they create lasting memories together. Inspired by his upbringing and experiences, Ty looks forward to new ways of giving back to the community while having fun along the way.
