Front of House & Guest Services

​

Guest Greeter & Ticket Check-In

Welcome guests, check tickets at the doors (needs at least 2 people checking and 2 guiding), handle general entry inquiries, and provide directions. Assist with VIP check-in if necessary.      

​

Usher / Seating Assistant       

Assist attendees with finding their seats, especially helping people navigate general seating areas and asking guests to move closer together to eliminate single-seat gaps. Monitor the audience during the show. Collect leftover programs at the end of the night.        

​

VIP Entrance Monitor

Stand guard or monitor the entrance to the VIP section (lobby or separate room) to ensure only guests with appropriate identification (e.g., VIP tickets, wristbands) are allowed entry.  

      

Concessions/Beverage Cashier

Work at the drink ticket table or bar area to take payments (cash and credit card) for cocktails, beer, and wine. Collect money, provide change, and dispense the colored drink tickets to guests.        

​

Bar Helper / Drink Ticket Collector

Assist the main bartender(s) by collecting drink tickets and fulfilling orders for beer, wine, or water. This role helps speed up the lines which are often congested.      

​

Coat Check Attendant

Manage coat racks for incoming guests in the lobby area. (Note: At least two to three coat racks are needed for guests out front). 

​

Security/Guest Management Support           

Work with the House Manager to monitor the venue environment and assist with diffusing situations involving unruly or intoxicated guests, possibly by relocating them to the lobby.

    

Parking Lot Attendant

Work the parking area, guiding guests to open spaces, and directing committee members to park across the street to reserve closer spots for attendees.

Backstage & Production Support

Props Manager

A crucial, dedicated role responsible for tracking, positioning, and removing all props used by performers throughout the night. This person ensures props are ready at the correct time backstage.

    

Performer Concierge/ Ambassador

Act as a point person backstage to support the Stars and Pros. Duties may include coordinating requests related to hair, makeup, and massage, or ensuring adequate snacks and water are available in the dressing rooms.

   

Backstage Runner/Errands

Perform various errands throughout the show, which could involve keeping water and snacks stocked backstage for performers.

Media and Event Operations

 

Live Social Media Reporter

Responsible for making real-time posts (e.g., on Facebook) during the show, capturing excitement from the crowd, judges, or backstage action.

​

Roving Event Photographer

Take candid photos of attendees, sponsors, and committee members in the lobby and VIP area throughout the night. Can also distribute cards with a QR code directing people to where the photos will be posted.  

  

Setup/Decorations Crew

Assist the Decorations Manager (Sharon Dunn) with setting up lobby decorations and ambiance. This might include helping with themed backdrops, balloon arches, and handling large equipment.        

​

Post-Show Cleanup Crew

Stay after the event ends to help break down decorations, organize seating, gather lost supplies, and ensure the entire area is clean.

Literacy for Life teaches adults the literacy skills required for self-sufficiency, better health and meaningful participation in society. They provide instruction in reading aptitude, writing skills, math fundamentals and ESOL.
