The oldest of two children to Dr. Jeffery O. Smith and Dr. Lorianne S. Smith, Loren Smith was born in Westmoreland County. Soon after, her family settled in Williamsburg, where she spent the majority of her formative years and was nurtured by a strong foundation of faith and community.

A graduate of West Point High School, Loren went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Cellular, Molecular and Physiological Biology from Christopher Newport University, followed by a Master of Public Health Management and Policy from Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Loren has spent the last eight years in healthcare as a hospital administrator. She currently is serving as vice president of operations for Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center and Sentara CarePlex Hospital. She is also a member of multiple professional organizations at the local and state level. 

Loren is still a resident in the Greater Williamsburg area, and she has a passion for serving through community outreach and building strong partnerships that drive Sentara's mission outside of the hospital walls. Her dedication to both the patient and team member experience fuels her passion each day.
