Join me in my efforts to support Dancing with the Williamsburg Stars!
Nancy Pickering Wigley originally moved to Williamsburg in 1974 and graduated from Lafayette High School where she was an avid cheerleader and gymnast. After graduating from Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, she stayed in the Blacksburg area for a few decades.
Nancy returned to her “hometown” in 2010. For over five years, she has been the Director of Special Events at The Mariners’ Museum in Newport News, America’s National Maritime Museum. She has produced hundreds of fundraising, community and donor events for crowds ranging from 50 to 15,000 people.
Since June 2014 Nancy has been happily married to Steve Wigley and their expanded family includes sons Christopher and Zac Newman, Steven Wigley and daughter Jessica Wigley. Their home in Toano has become a wonderful gathering place for both families.
Becoming active in the community was very important to Nancy and she started volunteering with An Occasion for the Arts in 2010. She has served as Publicity Chair, Décor Coordinator and is currently the Executive Secretary. She has been an active member as the event expanded from one to two days and then this year to a three-day festival. She has even managed to bring her sister and sister-in-law to the organization.
Nancy is the second Wigley to participate in Dancing with the Williamsburg Stars as her sister-in-law Beth Wigley performed in 2015. She is thrilled to be a part of this valuable community event and the charities it supports and is excited to show off the moves of a 52 year-old bi-lateral hip replacement survivor.
Thank you for supporting Dancing with the Williamsburg Stars. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.
